The Cast Iron Hand Stand gives the familiar form of an open hand an unexpected industrial presence. Its exaggerated fingers rise from a compact pedestal, creating an eccentric silhouette that feels part sculpture, part desk companion.

Each stand is individually sand-cast in iron and finished with a durable matte black powder coating. The casting process leaves subtle variations in texture and surface, marks that distinguish one piece from the next rather than being concealed. Its substantial material weight keeps the stand firmly grounded, even when supporting a phone, hanging jewellery or a handful of notes and cards.

The form is deliberately open to interpretation. A phone rests within the palm at a useful viewing angle. Rings, necklaces and bracelets can be draped across the fingers, while postcards, invitations or a small notebook sit securely between them. Its weight also allows it to serve as a bookend or paperweight, bringing order to a desk without disappearing into the background.

The matte black finish gives its surreal geometry a calm, cohesive character alongside timber, marble, glass and metal. Durable and intentionally multipurpose, it is an object designed to be used, rearranged and kept within reach.
